 The United Kingdom has instructed its citizens stationed in Afghanistan to leave the country immediately. The United Kingdom has instructed its citizens to leave the country, citing security risks in the face of intense fighting between Afghan government forces and the Taliban.

The United States Department of State, Commonwealth and Development's website said in a statement on Friday that the security situation in Afghanistan had deteriorated dramatically. 

As a result, British civilians are being advised to leave the country. At the same time, British nationals are being discouraged from traveling to Afghanistan.

Many areas of Afghanistan are now under Taliban control. On Friday, they captured Zaranj, the capital of Nimroz province. The UK government then instructed its citizens to leave Afghanistan.
