Bangladesh is going to buy 1.5 crore vaccines for coronavirus from China National Pharmaceuticals Group or SynoPharm of China. Under the commercial agreement, 5 million vaccines of Sinofarm are expected to arrive in Bangladesh in June in the first shipment. The two sides have finalized three agreements to buy 1.5 crore vaccines from Sinofarm in three months.Foreign Ministry officials told Prothom Alo on Monday.
In her address to the nation on May 13, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "We have made arrangements to buy one crore vaccines from different countries. Vaccines will start coming to the country very soon. '
Following this, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs held on May 19 approved the purchase of vaccines from China's Sinofarm.
