Turkey condemns mosque attack in Denmark

A group of extremist and racist thugs attacked the Turkish mosque on the German border on Friday evening, local time in Denmark. They wrote offensive writing on the walls of the mosque.

The mosque is run by the Danish-Turkish Islamic Foundation. Police have started investigation in this regard.

Hursit Toka, president of the mosque committee, said he came to the Abenra mosque last Friday evening to offer prayers.

But the next day, Saturday morning, he went to the mosque and saw an offensive writing on the wall about the Holy Qur'an

The mosque is partially closed due to coronavirus. The mosque authorities have informed the police about such offensive writing on the wall.

Police have started surveillance cameras in the area and are investigating the incident. Hursit condemned the incident and said the offensive text had been removed.

Extremist Christians in Denmark often engage in various racist practices, including burning the Koran.

Many Muslim world leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, have condemned the country's anti-Islamic sentiments. Muslims are the largest religious minority in Denmark, a country in northwestern Europe.
