 Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Monday unveiled a security plan in parliament to stem the Taliban's advance. Details of the plan have not been made public. The United States has expressed support for the plan. However, the Taliban has denied this. News AFP, Reuters and Al-Jazeera.The Afghan military says the security situation in Afghanistan's three southern and western provinces is now critical. The Taliban are fighting Afghan security forces in these provinces. 

The United States and NATO have begun the final process of withdrawing all troops from Afghanistan by August 31, after 20 years of aggression. Since the process began in May, the Taliban have stepped up operations to attack government forces in Afghanistan and regain control of various areas.Taliban fighters have already established control of about half of Afghanistan. 

A large part of it is rural. Now they are looking at important provincial cities. Following this, they are fighting fierce battles with government forces and pro-government groups in Kandahar, Helmand and Nangarhar provinces. The United States is launching airstrikes alongside the Afghan Air Force to thwart the Taliban's advance.In such a situation, President Ashraf Ghani presented the security plan in the parliament on Monday. He said the situation in the country would be brought under control within six months. 

The United States has given its full support to his plan. He added that the decision to abruptly withdraw all foreign troops from Afghanistan had given rise to the current situation. However, he will continue to fulfill the responsibility of 'protecting the countrymen'. Gani called on both houses of parliament to support the security plan.While the details of the plan are not known, the Taliban have dismissed it as a "completely meaningless" security plan. In a statement, the group said Gani was trying to control his mental and emotional well-being through the plan.
