Rescuers fear the missing Indonesian submarine has run out of oxygen. The submarine, along with 53 sailors, went missing during an exercise north of Bali Island on April 21. As the submarine was not rescued in three days, the hope of rescuing the sailors alive has diminished.

According to the BBC, the submarine is believed to have sunk far below the sea. Because of this it can be ruined. At least six Indonesian warships, a helicopter and 400 people are searching for the submarine. In the meantime, there are fears that the submarine has run out of oxygen.A number of countries have come forward in cooperation with Indonesia in search of the submarine named KRI Nangala-402. The submarine is being hunted by Australia, India, Malaysia and Singapore. A US Navy aircraft landed in Bali on Saturday morning with the necessary assistance. France and Germany have also expressed interest in sending aid to search the submarine. An Indonesian military spokesman said the sailors on the missing submarine had enough oxygen to last about 72 hours. They were not supposed to be deprived of oxygen until 3 am local time on Friday. But this deadline has passed.

Indonesia has five submarines. One of them is KRI Nangala-402. According to the news agency Reuters, this submarine was built in the seventies. It was repaired in South Korea for two years before 2012.A spokesman for the Indonesian navy told the BBC that this was the first time a submarine had gone missing in Indonesia.
