Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that after the ongoing lockdown, the government is actively thinking of launching public transport on condition that it complies with the health rules. He made the remarks at an exchange meeting with officials of Barisal Road Zone, BRTC and BRTA by virtually joining the meeting from his official residence on Saturday (April 24) morning. He called for adherence to hygiene rules even if the lockdown was relaxed, saying the use of masks and hand sanitizers should be made mandatory. They will be penalized if they take more than the fare that was fixed by leaving half the seats vacant in public transport.
Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League, said a political party was providing and sponsoring the false propaganda being spread at home and abroad using social media. He added that the opposition has been critical of digital security for those who are punished for propaganda and rumors. There is no reason to think that cybercrime and digital security will remain out of government action. Digital security must be given to the people, rumors and propaganda seriously disrupt security.
