London, PTI The Indian Premier League, a T20 tournament played in India, is today one of the most popular tournaments in the world. Initially England players were kept away from it, but now they are taking part in it. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Cricket Director Ashley Giles has said that the board does not want a confrontation with the players regarding participation in IPL.If they are forced to choose one of the franchises and the national team, then the team may have to lose some of the top players.
The former spinner, who has played 54 Tests and 62 ODIs for England, said the stand-off with the players could adversely affect England cricket. He believes that if there is an attempt to stop players from playing in the IPL, it can also have the opposite effect. Due to glamor money and popularity, this tournament is attracting everyone.
