Shakib Al Hasan has returned to the Test team as expected. The number one ODI all-rounder returned to international cricket in the one-day series against the West Indies after a one-year ban. This time Shakib, who is four in the list of Test all-rounders, also returned to the Test squad. He last played in a Test against Afghanistan in September 2019.
Hasan Mahmud has also been named in the Test squad against the West Indies after the ODIs.The pacer, who bowled around 140 km, was called up to the Test team for the first time. Hasan took 3 wickets in his debut ODI series against the West Indies. The 21-year-old fast bowler took 1 wicket in the second ODI. Hasan made his international debut in the Twenty20 against Zimbabwe in March last year.

Fast bowler Khaled Ahmed and wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan have been dropped from the previously announced 20-member preliminary squad. The first Test will be played on February 3 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. The second and final Test will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur from February 11.
