Online desk HSC and equivalent results will be released tomorrow, Saturday. Corona epidemic has delayed the release of results. Around 14 lakh students of the country are waiting for the results.
A press release issued by the Ministry of Education on Friday said, "The results of HSC and equivalent examinations 2020 will be announced on January 30, 2021 at 10:30 am."
The official announcement of the results will be at the International Mother Tongue Institute in Dhaka. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be present at the online results announcement ceremony from Ganobhaban.
13 lakh 75 thousand 69 students of 11 education boards were supposed to give HSC and equivalent examinations this time. The test was supposed to start from April 1.
But when the outbreak of coronavirus began to increase, all educational institutions in the country were closed from March 16. Even though the SSC exam was done before that, the HSC exam got stuck.
At a press conference on October 8, the education minister said that the HSC exams were not going to be taken like the fifth and eighth finals.
On the same day, he said, the results of HSC in 2020 will be determined by averaging the results of the eighth final and SSC. The results of JSC-JDC will be declared as 25 per cent and the result of SSC will be declared as 75 per cent.
But since the law has a provision for publishing results of examinations, it has to be amended to include the provision of publishing results without examinations in special circumstances, which was approved by the National Assembly last week.
Three bills passed in Parliament, the President said. After Abdul Hamid signed, on Monday night, the government issued ‘Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Act-2021’, ‘Bangladesh Technical Education Board (Amendment) Act-2021’, ‘Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board (Amendment) Act-2021’ in the form of Gazette.
The Ministry of Education then empowers the Boards of Education to prepare, announce and distribute the results of HSC and equivalent examinations.
