Republicans have also complained about electoral votes in Arizona, Nevada and Michigan, but those allegations have not been substantiated. The issue is logically resolved before any controversy arises.
The news of Biden's victory came after Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday.
The announcement was made at a joint session of the Congress. The session was adjourned for several hours as rioters vandalized the Parliament building on Capitol Hill.
The session resumed at 8 pm local time with Vice President Mike Pence. The Senate also convened on Pence's orders. At this point Pence said, let's go back to work.
